Greetings from Austin, Texas!
I’m bringing you the latest Monday Mix of social media and technology news from straight from the 2014 South by Southwest Interactive Conference.
- Vine Updates Content Rules: For those of you who are fans of the app and its amazing user-generated content but not so much of spam videos of a sexual nature – there’s a reason to cheer. The updated rules now ban explicit sexual content. More information on what constitutes explicit sexual content can be found here.
- Google+ App Adds More Functionality for Moderators: Moderators of community pages on Google+ can now pin posts to the top of the news stream. Pinning content is a great way to highlight important information and announcements your online community needs to know.
- Check out SXSW even if you’re not in Austin: Just because you couldn’t make it out to Austin for this year’s South by Southwest Conference doesn’t mean you have to miss out on all the action and learning. Check out the live stream to watch the keynote speakers. Catch the most important insights from sessions covering the latest in social media, technology, and more by following each event’s unique Twitter hashtag – available in the event description.
Stay tuned for an upcoming blog post (or more) inspired by what I’ve learned at SXSW!
