NGOsource was looking to build an online community using social media to promote its equivalency determinations service to foundations.

NGOsource occupies a unique space within the philanthropic community. The organization simplifies the giving process between US-based foundations and overseas non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

This unique positioning provided a rich opportunity to speak to both givers and recipient organizations. By speaking to the hurdles often encountered in cross-border giving and how NGOsource could be a partner in surmounting these challenges, I was able to steadily build a following on Twitter and Facebook. This following was made up of foundation chairs, philanthropic advisors, and US-based NGO staff leadership – people in a position to opt into NGOsource’s service.
